Stained Glass Windows

(Toilet/kitchen paper might be a little scarce right now but if you have some spare...)

Great little craft project to do with your little ones if you have an "at home" day over the holidays.

What you need:

kitchen paper
felt pens
PVA glue
clingfilm
water
pipette or medicine syringe
marker pen
simple design

How to:

Using felt pens, cover your sheet of kitchen paper in colours

When your kitchen paper is covered, use a pipette to drop water onto the ink (we used a plastic tray underneath). Don't wet it too much.

When your kitchen paper is suitably wet you will see the colours start to bleed/run, this is a great opportunity for littles to learn about how different colours are made.

Hang the sheets on the washing line or somewhere else to dry.

When dry, separate the two layers of kitchen paper then tear up the sheets into small pieces.

Take a piece of cling film and draw a simple design with a marker. You can lay the cling film over the top of something and trace it.

Cover the design in PVA glue

Stick pieces of coloured paper on top.

Cover coloured paper with a layer of PVA glue.

Add another 2/3 layers of coloured kitchen paper.

Once completely dry your art work should be a little firm but flexible.

Cut around the design and add any detailing with marker.

Hang on the window for a beautiful sun catcher or on your bedroom door.
