Spring is in the air

Life is undoubtedly a little surreal right now. It's difficult to maintain any kind of equilibrium. Spring is in the air, Easter is around the corner and life is incredibly uncertain.

It's absolutely necessary to find as many distractions as possible in times like this. Especially if you have children at home with you.  To that end, I would like to share some crafts with you.

It seems that when this global health crisis first reached the UK, many people went out to buy all of the toilet paper. Therefore, it is logical to assume many households will have some empty toilet paper tubes

Before you put them in the compost bin or in the recycling, consider using them for printing!

It's rather easy to create a number of shapes by squashing the tube between your fingers.

Whilst printing, you can also teach shape recognition!

If you want to make something slightly more advanced, you can trim the tubes and stick them together

Rabbit shapes are really easy to make and very festive!

If you feel like rabbits are a little beyond your capabilities, go for a simple Easter Egg instead!

You can even try cutting around the end of the tube

The simplest of cuts can make the most striking of patterns

You could also use your tubes to make flowers.

I have tulips on my mind at the moment but you could make any flower. Simply cut two slits down the sides of the tube to fit the cut out flower shape.

Here are some outlines to get you started. Simply trace over them, paint them and create your own flower arrangement.

Have Fun!
