Fear not, we have you covered!!
One of Nanny Kimbo's sisters shared an awesome EDIBLE PAINT activity that is fun for all ages and not a problem if your littles decide to put the paintbrush in their mouths instead of on the paper!
Ingredients:
4 Tablespoons of Corn Flour
Cold Water
1 Cup of Boiling Water
Liquid Food Colouring - Primary Colours
Method:
Mix your cornflour and cold water in a pan until it forms a paste. You don't want it to be too runny. Heat the mixture on medium. Add the boiling water and mix vigorously to avoid lumps forming.
Once the mixture starts turning clear, turn off the heat and continue to mix until you have a thick but runny consistency.
Pour equal amounts of mixture into small jars or pots and add food colouring. Mix well until desired colour is achieved.
When finished, paint can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks. Please be sure to check the paint has not expired before reusing.
If the paint has hardened, add boiling water a little at a time until desired consistency is achieved.
I think you will agree the results are fantastic!
This paint makes great sensory play for very little children.
And older children have fun being creative.
Thanks Jade for saving us on a cold and rainy day!!
