Memory Tin

The Summer holidays are well and truly under way.

Nanny Kimbo has been incredibly busy recently and as such, has not been able to update the blog!

Hopefully, we can get back to Live videos and craft demos for everyone to enjoy over the Summer.

Here is a quick and easy craft for you to try. This one is good for a "first day of the holidays" activity and will continue to be useful throughout.

Here is what you will need:

Money tin

Coloured paper
UHU glue
Washi tape
Scissors
Note paper
Colouring pens (not pictured)
Littles with an active imagination (also not pictured)

We started off by measuring around the tin with our sugar paper and cutting it to size.

Then the Littles went to town on their design.

Once the design was finished, we glued the sugar paper onto the tin and used washi tape to hide the edges.

Now your memory tin is finished! Each day throughout the Summer, write a little anecdote or memory and post it through the coin slot. For younger Littles, they can draw pictures and practice their writing.

When the Summer is over, use a tin opener to open your tin and read through the memories together.

This activity is great if your Littles need to keep a Summer diary. It is work without feeling like work!!

This is also a great activity for adults too.  It can be adapted for a personal gift for a special occasion with notes written by other people. The possibilities are endless!
